This Project Tiger Reserve probably no longer has any tigers though official publications claimed a tiger population of 57 as late as 1997. At 1985 sq km, with elevations ranging from 200 -4500 m, the reserve is situated in both the Eastern Himalaya and Indo-Burma global biodiversity hotspots and contains large tracts of primary tropical rain forest. © 2004 Sahotra Sarkar.
